Will County Board Purchases Specialty Care Pavilion

On May 21st the Will County Board approved the purchase of the old Silver Cross Hospital Specialty Care Pavilion located at 1300 Copperfield Ave. in Joliet. The Pavilion is a 72,000 sq.ft. four store office building built in 1998 at an estimated cost of several million dollars.

The County plans to use the building for the Veterans Assistance Commission. There are 67 multifamily Veterans Housing units located near by built in 2017. The building will also be used for the Children's Advocacy Center and for storage for the County Clerk and Records Storage. Other County Offices could also be relocated their in the future to reduce the amount of leased office space. The purchase price is $500,000. The office building is no longer needed as Silver Cross moved to a new hospital located in New Lenox in 2012.
