Wolf Road Reopens Ahead Of Schedule

MOKENA, IL - A significant portion of Wolf Road in Mokena that had been closed due to repair work on the bridge deck over Hickory Creek has reopened after the construction project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule.

The repairs were completed in less than three weeks as the road closure between Plattner Drive and Old Wolf Road began on July 16. Village of Mokena officials credited "an aggressive construction schedule and cooperative weather" as reasons the road was reopened Friday morning.

"The patience, understanding, and sacrifices of area residents during the duration of this closure were greatly appreciated," the village wrote in a statement.

Original plans called for the stretch of Wolf to be closed until August 17.
