Naperville Christmas Tree Lot Map 2017

A handy Christmas Tree Lot map, plus tips for buying and information on this season's tree shortage.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Faux trees have their advantages, but there's nothing quite like picking out a real Christmas tree to fill your house with the scent of balsam fir and pine. The weekend of Dec. 2 - 3 is usually the busiest one for selecting real trees, so grab 'em while you can.

This season is seeing several reports of Christmas tree shortages. That's because they take seven to ten years to mature on a farm, and around the time this season's trees were planted, the recession caused some farmers to scale back. Other variables came into play, too, like the preference for faux trees during the recession, and wildfires causing shortages in certain regions.

The National Christmas Tree Association offers plenty of tips for tree selection and maintenance to keep it fresh all season long. On this map, we've included one lot in Plainfield where you can cut the tree yourself. Patch also has a handy list of other Christmas tree farms in the suburbs.
