New Naperville Store Lets Residents Buy, Sell, Trade Used Items

Naperville residents looking to get some cash for that stack of dusty books and CDs are in luck. 

2nd & Charles, a store specializing in trading used books, CDs, DVDs, video games, game systems and accessories, is opening its first Illinois location in mid-November at 336 South Route 59, according to the company.

The Naperville 2nd & Charles will offer cash or store credit for gently used items including iPods, iPads and eReaders.

“Those in the Naperville community who have never visited one of our stores are in for an adventure,” said Rick Mallard, District Manager of the new Naperville 2nd & Charles in a news release. “Merchandise purchased, although loved and used by someone previously, will be new items of interest for shoppers.”

2nd & Charles will also have affordable sale item bins where items will be priced at $1, $2 or $3 and some baskets where books are entirely free, according to the company.

“We want shopping at 2nd & Charles to be an experience unlike any other,” said Eric Bishop, Vice President of 2nd & Charles in a news release. “When the residents of Illinois get to see firsthand the variety of used items for sale, from video games and music to bestsellers and classics, it’s sure to become a destination for bargain hunters and collectors from all over the state.”

The Naperville store will be the first 2nd & Charles location in Illinois and the 16th in the country
