Hometown Holiday KickoffWhere: Downtown Naperville

Kickoff the holiday season as downtown Naperville illuminates. More than 300,000 lights will be turned on simultaneously transforming downtown Naperville into a winter wonderland for the holiday season. Also, enjoy the unveiling of 25 holiday sculptures – gingerbread men. Live music will accompany the “oohs and ahs”. The Little Friends Parade of Lights will occur over Thanksgiving Weekend on Sunday, Dec. 1, starting at 5 p.m. For more info, www.downtownnaperville.com.

Edward Hospital Naperville Marathon and Half MarathonWhere: Downtown Naperville
When: Sunday, Nov. 10 - 7 a.m. to noon
The Edward Hospital Naperville Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 10 and will be a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. The marathon will start and finish at the North Central College athletic complex – near South Loomis Street and East Porter Avenue – and run through an extensive loop in central, south and east Naperville. www.naperville26.com

Breathe Deep NapervilleWhere: Riverwalk’s Grand Pavilion, 500 W. Jackson, Naperville
When: Saturday, Nov. 9 - 9 a.m.
The 11th annual Breathe Deep Naperville: A Walk & Rally to Stop Lung Cancer will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Riverwalk’s Grand Pavilion, 500 W. Jackson, Naperville. Check- in begins at 9 a.m., and the walk steps off at 10:15 a.m. It’s a leisurely 3/4-mile or 1.5-mile walk which is friendly to strollers, wheelchairs, bicycles and pets. It will take place rain or shine. The walk is free, but a donation of $20 per person is suggested.
