13 Days of Gun Control Solutions that Save Lives
It ends today with the final posting. 13 days on gun violence reduction solutions hyper focused on saving lives. Take a look and see how many "groups" of our neighbors are affected by gun violence (directly and indirectly). To end, let's go back to where we started with Douzaine Principle #1 - our nation is awash in guns and because of this simple, indisputable fact, every person who is or will be on the list below is at a much, much higher risk of death.
Douzaine Principle #13: Gun control solutions must be tailored for specific populations based on data and research:
Suicidal
Domestic violence
Children (0-12), boys/girls
Youth (12-18), boys/girls
Young adults (19-25), men/women
Shootings against law enforcement
"On the street" e.g. gang violence
"In the moment" shootings
Site shootings i.e. schools, concerts, sporting events

One more thing, we have now revealed the complexity of the problem and it so far beyond Dems and Repubs, political slogans and attack lines. But be hopeful because also before us are solutions that do indeed exist. They must be comprehensive in nature and we must be willing to do them. In the end, this is always the question for us - are we willing to pay the cost to save lives? It's going to be very expensive. Where do you stand?
