Chet Coppock Rememberance

The late, great sports journalist Chet Coppock was remembered by fans, friends and colleagues at Eddies, Arlington Heights.

The late, great Chicago area born sports personality anchor Chet Coppock was remembered by fans, friends and colleagues Wednesday night at Eddie's in Arlington Heights.

Jim O'Donnell of The Daily Herald was the event's EMC.

Dan Jiggetts, former Chicago Bear and local sportscaster as well as Cheryl Raye-Stout of WBEZ were also on hand as the three colleagues of the late Mr. Coppick speaking to the public on Chet's life and career in sports broadcasting.

There were many remembrances of Chet's personal and professional life, as well as a recounting of Chet's achievements and his ultimate fall from grace with the local Chicago market.

Audience members also chimed in with their own stories, anecdotes and questions for the expert panel.

Also in the audience were Chet's book publisher and ex Chicago Bull Dave Corzine and NCAA basketball ref George Demos, among approximately 40 or so who filled the front area of Eddie's in Arlington Heights on Rt. 41.
