Christmas 2018: Holiday Hours, Closures In Niles, Morton Grove
What's open, what's closed, and what's got special holiday hours from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day in Niles and Morton Grove this year.

NILES-MORTON GROVE, IL — The home stretch of the holiday season has arrived, with one more weekend to get ready to kick off the final week of 2018 with Christmas Eve on Monday. North suburban communities are making preparations to observe both the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Last-minute shoppers will be out picking up presents and ingredients for holiday meals, travelers will be on the roads and in the air to meet family and friends for the festive period and most students will be enjoying their winter break through the start of 2019.
First responders and employees at some businesses will be working on Christmas and New Year's, but many area employers will be closed to give workers a chance to gather to share the holiday with loved ones.

Here's a look at what's open and what's closed in Niles and Morton Grove for Christmas and New Year's 2018.
Post office: Closed

Federal offices: Closed
Banks: Closed
Gas stations: Open
Refuse Collection: No recycling or trash collections will take place on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, so all pickups will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week in Niles and Morton Grove. Residents can recycle holiday lights at Morton Grove Village Hall during regular business hours until March 30.
Village Halls: Municipal administrative offices in Niles and Morton Grove will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Morton Grove Public Library: Closed on Dec. 24, 25. Closing at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and all day Jan. 1.
Niles-Maine District Library: Closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1.
Niles Family Fitness Center: Closing at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 and all day on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. No group classes are scheduled on Dec. 24, 25 or Jan. 1 and the center will open at 8 a.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Niles/Morton Grove Public Schools: Closed for winter break through Jan. 4.
Grocery stores: Most will be closed Christmas Day, some will be open and many will have adjusted hours. More info...
