Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 is spending $189,630 on new Chromebooks, the Journal & Topics reports.
The school board voted this week to purchase 675 of the laptops to be tested out next school year, the newspaper reports. Each school will get 2-3 classroom sets of the Google Chrome browser-based machines. If they are proven to be a good resource in schools, the district may consider purchasing one for each student in grades 3-8.
Maine Township High School District 207 introduced Chomebooks in classrooms this year.
