Families Showing Up Against Racism and For Racial Diversity Neighborhood Parades - Saturday, August 19

Greetings Once Again My Neighbors,

We are at a very important time in the history of our great nation - citizens across the country are joining together to show up against racism and to speak up for racial diversity in numbers and ways that we have never seen before. While we can see these images on YouTube, Twitter and even TV, as Americans we want to participate in our democracy right here in our own community.

So, here's your chance to do just that in a family-friendly, all ages parade. Let us come together on Saturday, August 19 at 3 PM (Edgebrook) and 4:30 PM (Sauganash). Details and more on our Unity in Community Facebook events page here: https://www.facebook.com/event...

We'll parade together - walking, singing, chanting, dancing, biking, skateboarding - with our neighbors. We'll also say out loud, together, with each other and the whole community as witnesses the YWCA Stand Against Racism Pledge.

We are going to be out in the open air and in public about your voice being seen and heard against racism and for racial diversity. It is critically important you do this in the public square, openly, loudly, proudly and in your own neighborhoods. It is critically important our youth see us as adults making this public statement. It is critically important we as adults see our youth making this public statement. It is critically important that we see each other doing this in a public way so we know how many and how strong are our numbers.
