- "Unique Treasures Holiday Boutique," a sale of artisan crafts, edibles, candles, handmade clothes, jewelry and decor and unique beautiful items to benefit NorthShore University Health System, takes place Wednesday at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Enter through Door 21.
- Donate a gently-used coat to someone who needs one--the Niles, Des Plaines and Park Ridge Police Departments are collecting them for distribution in Maine Township.
- Coming up Thursday: Keep your child away from the potential tragedy of drug use. Dr. Alicen McGowan, a drug addiction specialist, will present "The Adolescent Journey from Marijuana to Heroin: Teenage Risk Taking and Its Consequences" at 7:30 p.m. Park Ridge Non-Profit Center.
