Flags at Half-Staff: The Death of President George H. W. Bush

On the passing of a US President, flags are ordered to be placed at half-staff for a period of 30 days of mourning,

Greetings My Neighbors,

It is in mourning that we will now fly the flag for 30 days on the death of President George H. W. Bush. Remember, if you cannot half-staff your flag, you may attach a black ribbon to the top of a U.S. flag as an acceptable alternative for flags that cannot be lowered to half-staff. See the attached image.

In accordance with Flag Code, Title 4 U.S. Code § 7(m) and by order of the President of the United States, the flag shall be flown at half-staff from December 1st until December 30th, 2018 due to the death of George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States having served from 1989 to 1993.
