Flooding After Severe Rains
On Tuesday there was heavy rainfall in the area leading to flooding of local streets
Areas by the Des Plaines river were hit especially hard by the area's heavy rains on Tuesday.
Des Plaines is known for it's low lying levels close to the river and this was no exception as rain poured down at near storm levels for several hours.
The Des Plaines river was cresting several feet above it's normal levels, endangering houses that were close by.
