Major accident shuts down Niles Intersection

The intersection of Harlem & Oakton was shut down following a two car crash Wednesday night.

The crash happened shortly after this reporter was at the intersection around 5:30.

Traffic was not allowed to go westbound on Oakton past Harlem nor northbound on Harlem past Oakton for over an hour after the accident.

A late model Hyundai Sonata collided with a Saturn L300 wagon, with debris all the way up onto the curb, some 30 feet away.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene as traffic was diverted onto westbound Keeney and northbound Oconto.
