Niles-Maine District Library Welcomes Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio Hosts
The Niles-Maine District Library welcomes legendary music critics Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot of the Sound Opinions radio show.
The Niles-Maine District Library welcomes legendary music critics Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot of the Sound Opinions radio show featured on Chicago’s NPR station WBEZ in a special virtual program. This program is sponsored and presented in partnership by multiple Illinois public libraries.
Join the Sound Opinions hosts on Tuesday, May 11, 7-8 p.m. as they trace Chicago's extensive music history and share the top 10 most influential artists that have contributed to the scene over the past few decades. Artists span over many genres including Blues, Rock, R&B, Gospel, and more.
Adult Services librarian Cecilia Cygnar shares the excitement about the virtual program. "This is an important program to be a part of. DeRogatis and Kot are highly respected music lovers and critics that have a large following around the country. Aside from a very loyal fan base, they also have support among industry insiders."

The Niles-Maine District Library is located at 6960 W. Oakton St, the northeast corner of the Oakton and Waukegan intersection. Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., closed on Sundays.
