Niles-Maine Library Provides Access to New Technology for Seniors

The Niles-Maine District Library is now offering Tablet and Hotspot Kits for Niles-Maine seniors who are looking for a way to stay connected

The Niles-Maine District Library is now offering Tablet and Hotspot Kits for Niles-Maine seniors who are looking for a way to stay connected to family and friends. The kits include either an iPad or Samsung tablet and a hotspot with Internet access. Kits can be checked out for 3 weeks to Niles-Maine cardholders. Kits are provided by CARES Act funding through AgeOptions, the Area Agency on Aging for Suburban Cook County.

“We are excited for the opportunity to provide access to the equipment and Internet to those folks who have been disconnected from their friends, family, and community,” says Suzanne Wulf, Head of Digital Services.

Adult Services librarian Cecilia adds, “Having this technology available to seniors is imperative as Adult Services is bringing virtual programming to them, which is a great way for us all to stay connected with culture, information, and entertainment.”
