Northwestern Wildcats lose to Notre Dame in football.

The Northwestern Wildcats Big 10 football team played the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame on November 3, 2018 at Ryan Field in Evanston, IL.

The Wildcats lost, 31-21 to fall to 5-4, while Notre Dame improved to 9-0, keeping their National Championship hopes alive.

The game opened up with an impressive marching show by the 132 year old Irish marching band and three skydivers parachuting onto the field during the National Anthem, the last with an Ameican flag in tow, as rockets off and the crown cheered mightily.

The game was close most of the way, with the Irish drawing first blood with a 1 yard TD run in the first quarter. Northwestern tied the game in the 2nd quarter with their own 1 yard dash into the end zone.

After halftime, the Irish scored twice to lead 21-7 after three quarters. The fourth quarter opened up with the Irish increasing their advantage to 24-7 before Northwestern made the game interesting by scoring 14 unanswered points to narrow the gap to 24-21.

With less than three minutes left in the game, Notre Dame scored a TD to increase the lead to 31-21, which proved to be the final score.
