PolyScience Named 2017 Niles Green Business Award Winner
The temperature control company is currently working on converting to refrigerants with a low greenhouse impact.

NILES-MORTON GROVE, IL - From The Village of Niles: The Village of Niles is proud to announce PolyScience as the 2017 Green Business Award winner. PolyScience at 6600 W Touhy Avenue in Niles incorporates a multitude of environmentally friendly initiatives. PolyScience showed their efforts in research and development, energy conservation, use of biodegradable materials, planting initiatives, and recycling.
The Village of Niles Green Business Award was established in 2014 to encourage businesses to use sustainable and environmental best practices.
“Within the past five years, PolyScience has taken major steps throughout all parts of its business towards improving its overall environmental impact,” wrote Adam Seidman of PolyScience in their application.
PolyScience has invested in recycling many different waste products including oily rags, waste water, used oil, among other items. The business converted many of their fixtures to more efficient products and has replaced certain packaging items with biodegradable materials.

A vast amount of materials are recycled within the business, including scrap material and cardboard. The business is currently in the process of researching and developing product conversion to low greenhouse impact refrigerants.
