Roof Collapses At Morton Grove Stable After Heavy Snowfall
The indoor arena at the Cook County Forest Preserve District facility is set to be demolished Wednesday.

MORTON GROVE, IL — The indoor training arena at Glen Grove Equestrian Center is set for demolition after its roof collapsed Tuesday morning due to heavy overnight snowfall, authorities said.
The structure is owned by the Cook County Forest Preserve District and leased to the operator of the equestrian center.
No people or horses were harmed in the collapse, according to forest preserve spokesperson Carl Vogel.

Morton Grove village staff told Patch the collapse of the southeast building occurred around 6 a.m. and triggered a gas leak.
The rest of the building appeared unaffected, and fire companies from Morton Grove and Niles turned over the scene to Cook County personnel around 9 a.m.
The year-round facility at 9453 Harms Road offers indoor and outdoor riding areas, riding lessons and pony rides, according to the district.
Representatives of the equestrian center did not respond to a request for more information Tuesday.
