Sporting the Coveted Green Jacket

Sedgebrook residents hit the temporary putting green set up inside the campus lounge for their putt-putt competition.

The champion of the Masters Tournament will not be the only golfer sporting a coveted green jacket. As the first major golf championship of 2019 kicks off (or in this case, tees off) at Augusta National Golf Club, a more paired down event was held at Sedgebrook senior living community in Lincolnshire. Residents hit the temporary putting green set up inside the campus lounge for their putt-putt competition. “The weather here wasn’t really quite as conducive to outdoor play, as it is in Georgia, but the residents had a lot of fun” said Ryan Springer, community resources manager at Sedgebrook. “Golf is really a treasured tradition for our residents. We have a group of golfers who hit the links weekly at Cranes Landing at the nearby Marriot, weather permitting.”
