Veterans Day 2018 "Bells of Peace" Ceremony #TolltheBells #CountdowntoVeteransDay

Greetings My Neighbors!
For the 2018 annual Veterans Day Flag and Remembrance Ceremony (Sunday, November 11 at 11am at North Park Village - see flyer for details), we have something very special planned this year as we will also be doing the Bells of Peace Ceremony to commemorate Armistice Day and the end of World War I. This is part of the US World War I Centennial Commission. You can download the Bells of Peace app and learn more about this national event here: www.worldwar1centennial.org
All are welcome - veterans, families, friends, neighbors, indeed all! We are one nation, one people, and we will celebrate and remember Veterans Day this year as we have done every other year in our shared community...together!

We will recognize by name and give thanks for all who are serving or have served, living or deceased, in the US Armed Forces. The veteran need not have paid the ultimate measure of devotion while serving to be recognized for their service.
We will ring 21 bells as part of the Bells of Peace Ceremony as a symbol of our lasting desire to have peace.

US flags that are no longer suitable to be flown can be brought for proper disposal. We will also demonstrate how to properly fold the US flag if desired.
Note that we will do a brief Veterans Day ceremony at the Edgebrook triangle prior to the Bells of Peace Ceremony at North Park Village. It will be on Veterans Day at 10 am at the Edgebrook flag at Ginny Moss Triangle.
