Veterans Day Snowstorm

The season's second snowfall on Monday, November 11, 2019, Veteran's Day has arrived.

Snow fell over night and by the morning commute, streets and sidewalks were covered in white powder.

East Main District 63 busses ran up to 30 minutes late, causing some children to have to wait outside, in the snow and cold for as much as an additional 30 minutes.

East Main did send out text and emails after the fact that due to the lateness of the bus', children would not be marked as tardy, which was of course, obvious and apparent.

The village of Niles was out in force plowing and salting the streets, even side streets are well cleaned, except where cars have parked, the plows cut a wide berth and leave quite a bit of excess snow.

The forecast is for snow to continue to fall and accumulate more as the day wears on.
