Northbrook Farmers Market once again is asking our generous community to help restock local food pantry shelves with household cleaning, personal hygiene products and other non-perishable items. Items of particular need include paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, women's personal hygiene products, and other dry goods -- all items that cannot be purchased with food stamps, but certainly are necessities.

There will be a jar for cash donations, which helps the pantry purchase food and supplies as needed.

Market organizers are grateful to Omar Zaki and Julie Grobman at Edwards Jones in Northbrook for their generous donation that helps defray expenses associated with the event.
As always, volunteers will be available to help unload cars for those needing assistance with their donations; just come to the Welcome booth.

Northfield Township, which operates the food pantry, will offer information about the pantry at their drop-off table.

Keep in mind volunteers collect fresh food from vendors each week, for a total of 65,000 pounds donated over the years.

The market is open Wednesdays, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the parking lot of Meadow Plaza, Cherry Lane and Meadow Road.
