July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

What: Liberty Loop 5K Race and Liberty Lap Fun Run
When: 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3 (Liberty Loop) and 9 a.m. (Liberty Lap Fun Run)
Where: Techny Prairie Parks and Fields, 1750 Techny Road, Northbrook
Details: Enjoy a scenic run or walk on a certified 5K course. Winners receive medals, and pre-registered participants receive a dry-fit T-shirt and gift bag. Children five and under can run/walk at no charge but need to be preregistered. Online and in-person registration ends 5 p.m. on Friday, July 2. Race packet pickup available from 1-6 p.m. on Friday, July 2 at Techny Prairie Activity Center. Find out more at www.nbparks.org.

When: 3-5 p.m. July 3
Where: Village Green Park, 1810 Walters Ave., Northbrook
Details: Night Baby, a rock 'n' roll cover band, performs in the southwest corner of the park.
