4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Near Northbrook

NORTHBROOK, IL — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Northbrook so you can start planning now.

Here's what's in store this July 4 in Northbrook:

What: Liberty Loop 5K Race and Liberty Lap Fun Run
When: 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3 (Liberty Loop) and 9 a.m. (Liberty Lap Fun Run)
Where: Techny Prairie Parks and Fields, 1750 Techny Road, Northbrook
Details: Enjoy a scenic run or walk on a certified 5K course. Winners receive medals, and pre-registered participants receive a dry-fit T-shirt and gift bag. Children five and under can run/walk at no charge but need to be preregistered. Online and in-person registration ends 5 p.m. on Friday, July 2. Race packet pickup available from 1-6 p.m. on Friday, July 2 at Techny Prairie Activity Center. Find out more at www.nbparks.org.

What: Music at Village Green Park
When: 3-5 p.m. July 3
Where: Village Green Park, 1810 Walters Ave., Northbrook
Details: Night Baby, a rock 'n' roll cover band, performs in the southwest corner of the park.

What: Fireworks
When: Dusk on July 4
Where: Meadowhill Park and Techny Prairie Park and Fields, Northbrook
Details: Blankets encouraged, chairs not allowed in some areas.
