Barnaby's In Northbrook Named Among Area's Best Thin Crust Pizza

NORTHBROOK, IL — In a new list of the top thin-crust pizza joints in Chicagoland, the only North Shore destination is Barnaby's Family Inn in Northbrook, where it has been serving classic Chicago tavern-style pizza for more than four decades. The family-owned business also has locations in Niles and Des Plaines, but the Northbrook location is widely regarded as the top thin crust in the north suburbs.

Barnaby's pizzas feature a cornmeal crust with signature crimping on its edges and a super-thin bottom. It also features historic Chicago favorites Green River soda and Filbert's root beer and black cherry soda, which is delivered in a beer keg and served from the tap.

In its map of the Chicago area's top 20 thin crust destinations, Eater Chicago said the "dark and dated space" makes diners feel at home. The self-serve family style restaurant can get packed on the weekends, so you may want to order ahead for some of the North Shore's best pizza during peak hours.
