The Comedy Nosh, the ongoing dinner-and-a-show stand-up comedy showcase which has become a comedy staple in Northbrook closes out the 2019 year of shows on Thursday, November 14th with a lineup of new faces and returning favorites.

The “Nosh” includes a full dinner from a special, limited menu, as well as a complimentary drink, and a lineup of professional Chicago area stand-up comedians, including north suburban natives Jeremy Drazner and Todd Glover, and local favorite, Jan Slavin of High Fiber Comedy and Boomer Babes. As always, the show will be hosted and produced by Funnier By The Lake’s Larry Bloom and Best Corporate Comedy’s Ricky March, both of Highland Park.

Bloom and March created the Comedy Nosh, along with several other comedy shows across the north suburbs to bring Chicago-style and Chicago-caliber talent to local venues to save comedy fans the hassle, time and expense of driving into the city to enjoy live stand-up comedy. The long-running comedy show has made its home in the private event space of Max and Benny’s Restaurant, Deli and Bakery since February 2016. While the November Nosh marks the end of a third year of shows, it also welcomes a new home at Ariella’s, Max and Benny’s addition to the Waukegan Road location the restaurant has occupied since 1994.

Ariella's Event Space in Northbrook

Max and Benny’s, named for owners Rhea and Lester Schlan’s sons, kept with tradition when branding the new meetings and special events space, combining the names Aria and Gabriella, the children of Max and Benny’s president, Ben Schlan, to form the name Ariella’s.
