Deerfield Man Accused Of DUI, Leaving Scene Of Accident: Blotter
An arrest followed a hit-and-run crash investigation on April 5 in the 800 block of Meadow Drive: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED
Mario Moss, 20, of the 5300 block of N Winthrop Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, no insurance, speeding, and was arrested at 6:45 p.m. April 3 in the 2400 block of Willow Road. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and assigned a court date of May 14.

BOND FORFEITURE
Glyn Rubio, 20, of the 500 block of Crescent Drive, Champaign, is accused of having a warrant out of Evanston, and was arrested at 6:45 p.m April 3 in the 2400 block of Willow Road. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of April 28 in Skokie.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Michael V. Lapiana, 20, of the 600 block of Westgate Road, Deerfield, is accused of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, failure to reduce speed, and was arrested following a hit-and-run traffic crash investigation at 8:30 p.m. April 5 in the 800 block of Meadow Drive. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of May 19.
A person reported that between 2:15 and 9:15 a.m. April 1 someone scratched the driver's side of their parked vehicle at the UPS Customer Center, 2500 block of Shermer Road.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
- A Cardinal Court resident called police on March 28 to report someone used their personal information to receive a COVID-19 test in Chicago.
- A resident in the 2600 block of Crabtree Lane reported at 11:52 p.m. April 2 that they saw flashlights illuminated at a neighbor's vacant residence. Officers conducted a premise check and were unable to locate any suspects.
- An officer conducting a premise check in the 2900 block of Maria Avenue at 10:56 p.m. April 6 located what appeared to be fresh damage to an office door. The officer checked inside the office and it was found to be vacant.
TRESPASSING
A resident in the 2600 block of Crabtree Lane called police to report that between April 2-4 someone entered the property, which is under construction, and moved various items. The complainant also stated that they have found empty alcoholic beverage containers in the building.
ILLEGAL DUMPING
A resident in the 2900 block of Maria Avenue reported at 9:40 a.m. April 5 that someone has been placing items in the dumpster without permission.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 2900 block of Maria Avenue called police at 10:15 a.m. April 5 to report someone entered their office and caused interior damage.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A person reported at 12:55 p.m. April 5 someone had etched graffiti on an electrical box in the 1800 block of Walters Avenue.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 1000 block of Shermer Road called police at 12:06 p.m. April 6 to report that when they returned to their residence, they found the front door damaged and open. The complainant stated that numerous items were disturbed and several items were missing.
CUSTOMER DISPUTE
A person reported at 7:42 p.m. April 5 that they were having a dispute with a homeowner in the 4000 block of Greenacre Drive that they were contracted to perform landscaping services for. The homeowner refused to pay for the services rendered.
An employee at Chicago Car Loft, 3600 block of Commercial Avenue called police at 3:34 p.m. April 8 to report having a dispute with a customer over the payment status of a vehicle.
THEFT OF LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY
A customer at the BP gas station, 1900 block of Willow Road reported that between 8:35-8:47 a.m. April 7 the loss of their leather wallet that contained currency, various credit cards and identification cards.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Southbridge Lane resident called police at 3:43 p.m. April 7 to report that they received correspondence from the Illinois Department of Employment Security regarding a benefit claim that they did not apply for.
