Dig For Human Remains, Evidence May Go Through Weekend: Police
Northbrook police continue exploring a lead on the cold missing person case of Linda Seymour from the winter of 1982.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The digging at a Northbrook residence continued Wednesday as police explore a possible lead in a missing person case from nearly 40 years ago. For the second straight day, Northbrook police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Investigative Cold Case unit searched for evidence and human remains at a home in the 1400 block of Orchard Lane.
The home was once owned by Linda H. Seymour, who went missing in the winter of 1982 without a trace. Her husband, James Seymour Sr., lived at the home until his death in 2009, according to public records. A son of the missing woman currently lives in the home.
Police said late Wednesday that work may continue into the weekend "due to the level of detail necessary for this operation coupled with some soil condition challenges. "
