DUI, Threatening Phone Calls, Theft, Property Damage: Blotter

Northbrook police responded to residents receiving threatening phone calls, a woman's purse was stolen out of her car and other complaints.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DUI

Michael A. Agins, 34, Chicago was arrested driving under the influence of alcohol and was also cited for speeding and changing lanes without signaling. He was released after posting $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 13.

Driving with a suspended license

Luis M. Maldonado, 21, Waukegan, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and was also cited for speeding. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 16.

COMPLAINTS

Threatening phone calls

Police responded to a call in the 4300 block of Phyllis where the complainant said that they had received threatening phone calls and voice messages from someone they knew regarding a past incident. Officers made contact with the person in question and they agreed to cease having any contact with the complainant.

Burglary from a vehicle

Officers arrived the Bright Horizon Daycare in the 1100 block of Techny where the complainant reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicle and taken their purse from the front seat.

Criminal property damage

A complainant in the 1400 block of Shermer told police that a wreath on their front door had been damaged.

Theft

A complainant in the 1900 block of Kiest said that an unknown person or persons had removed their front license plate from their vehicle.

Burglary

Officers arrived in the 2900 block of Maria after reports of a possible burglary. Officers found that the front door of the residence was damaged and appeared to have been broken into. The business owner was contacted but nothing appeared to be taken or damaged.

Threatening phone calls

A complainant in the 1800 block of Techny told officers that they had been receiving threatening and harassing phone calls from someone they had sold a vehicle to recently.

Dispute

Officers arrived at the 1800 block of Techny and was told that a known person to the complainant had been at the location taking pictures without permission.

Criminal Property Damage

Officers arrived at the Goodwill store in the 4100 block of Dundee Road where officers found damage done to the front door of the store. Officers along with people from the store reviewed security footage and saw that a driver had driven their vehicle into doors, which caused the damage and then left the scene.

Battery

Officers arrived at the Mobile gas station in the 3100 block of Dundee Road where a male suspect wearing a mask entered the gas station, threw a liquid substance at the clerk and then left in a vehicle.

Unwanted subject

Police arrived in the 2500 block of W. Windrush Lane and was told that a person the complainant had a civil dispute with had created a disturbance at both their residence and business.
