Family Member Egged At Home; Metra Bathroom Graffiti: Blotter
A resident said a family member was egged outside their residence; two bathrooms at the Metra were vandalized: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED
Jimmy Acevedo, 50, of the 3000 block of W Birchwood Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, improper lighting, no front plate, no insurance, and was arrested at 11:53 p.m. Jan. 4 at Dundee and Bach roads. He was released after posting $2,500 bond, and assigned a court date of Feb. 10.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Lisa Ann Johnson, 54, of the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, violating a median, and was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard. She was released after posting a $3,000 bond, and assigned a court date of Feb. 18.

INCIDENTS
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
An Audrey Lane resident reported at 6:13 p.m. Jan. 1 that they received several threatening text messages on their phone from unknown people.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 3300 block of Robincrest Drive called police at 12:06 p.m. Jan. 2 to report that someone knocked on their door and then walked into their backyard to the back door. The complainant described the person as a male wearing a Carhartt style jacket and a vest. The resident also said the male had a clipboard and displayed identification on a lanyard. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.
FORGERY
A resident of Shemer Road reported at 12:46 p.m. Jan. 2 that they were contacted by a person with whom they do business with, who stated that a payment was not received. The complainant checked with their bank and learned that the check which they sent had been altered and cashed by an unknown person.
DISTURBANCE
A resident in the 2100 block of Farnsworth Lane called police at 4:20 p.m. Jan. 2 to report someone threw eggs at a family member.
CUSTOMER DISPUTE
- An employee at the Renaissance Hotel, 900 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 7:04 p.m. Jan. 2 that a customer became upset with staff when they were not allowed access to their room due to an unpaid bill. An officer arrived, and the customer was given access to gather their belongings and no further assistance was needed.
- An employee at the Renaissance Hotel, 900 block of Skokie Boulevard called police at 4:14 p.m. Jan. 4 to report that a guest was scheduled to check out of their room, but refused to. Officers made contact with the guest, who later departed the hotel without further incident.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A citizen called police on Jan. 2 to report that someone wrote graffiti in both of the lobby bathrooms at the Metra Depot, 1400 block of Shermer Road.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Bittersweet Drive resident reported on Jan. 4 that they received correspondence from the Colorado Department of Labor regarding a claim for unemployment benefits which they did not file for.
- Officers took a total of 15 telephone reports from residents for identity theft. Complainants reported that they were notified by either their employer’s human resource department or the Illinois Department of Employment Security regarding the use of their information for the filing of unemployment benefits which they did not file for.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A Seton Road resident called police at 7:18 p.m. Jan. 4 to report receiving an email from Amazon regarding a possible fraud. The complainant called the number listed on the email and was told to purchase gift cards to clear up the fraudulent issue. The resident became suspicious but ultimately provided information.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee at Neiman Marcus, 1400 block of Lake Cook Road, reported on Jan. 5 that two females entered the store and took multiple purses without paying for the items.
THEFT
A resident in the 1900 block of Fieldwood Drive called police at 2:41 p.m. Jan. 6 to report someone removed mail from their mailbox, altered and cashed a check, which was issued in their name.
BURGLARY
A resident of the 1800 block of Thornwood Lane reported at 1:17 p.m. Jan. 7 that a family member heard a knock at the front door and then observed two unknown males who were wearing blue-colored gators and black snow gloves in the front doorway. The complainant stated that the family member yelled at the men and then observed the two men walk away and enter a silver SUV type vehicle then leave the area.
