Gun Threat; Fresh Graffiti Found Around Town: Blotter
A resident said they were struck in the face by an acquaintance, who was holding a gun; graffiti incidents: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
TRESPASSING
An officer on a routine patrol in the 1300 block of Shermer Road was approached by an unknown person at 12:54 a.m. May 30 who said that someone may need assistance. Officer while checking on a small group of people inquired if they needed any assistance, and while doing so, saw another person separate from the group, open the door to their marked squad car without permission. The person was contacted and issued a local ordinance citation for trespassing.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 1000 block of Dell reported at 11:15 p.m. May 30 that an unknown person with a dog came to their door, unexpectedly, wanting to discuss church matters. The person in question was located by officers and informed about the soliciting ordinance and that it was not appropriate to go door to door at this hour of the day.

- Police on patrol at 1:15 a.m. June 1 found what appeared to be fresh graffiti on the gazebo at Village Green, 1800 block of Walters Avenue.
- An officer on patrol at 4:10 a.m. June 2 found new graffiti at the skate park at Techny Prairie Park, 1700 block of Techny Road.
BATTERY
- A person called police at 2:40 p.m. June 1 to report they were struck in the face by someone they knew and claimed had a gun in their possession in the 400 block of Skokie Boulevard. An investigation into the aggravated battery is being conducted by police.
- A complainant reported at 2:39 p.m. June 1 that they were assaulted and battered by two people they knew in the 400 block of Skokie Boulevard. The complainant said they had been business partners with the two people in the past.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A person reported at 3:54 p.m. June 1 that they met someone to sell their vehicle in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. They asked the complainant to take the car and would pay them the next day. The complainant has not heard from them in several days and is not returning any messages that have been left.
FRAUD
A resident of the 400 block of Skokie Boulevard called police at 9:43 a.m. June 2 to report someone has issued three fraudulent checks from their business account.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
An employee at Steve Foley Bentley, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 1:09 p.m. June 3 that a customer had paid for services done to their vehicle with a check that has been returned by the bank several times for insufficient funds. Complainant stated that they have attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle who issued the check for payment several times with no resolution.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Marcee Lane resident called police at 3:10 p.m. June 3 to report that they received correspondence from the Illinois Department of Employment Security that their information was used to apply for benefits. The complainant did not authorize anyone to use their information and they did not apply for the benefits.
