Join us for a Virtual Screening of "Lives Well Lived"

This documentary features 40 adults—75 to 100 years old—who share intimate memories and insights about living their lives to fullest.

The Northbrook Public Library Library Invites the Community to a Virtual Screening of Lives Well Lived, a Documentary that Celebrates the Wit and Wisdom of Age, on May 16 & 17

The documentary Lives Well Lived features 40 adults—75 to 100 years old—who share intimate memories and insights about living their lives to the fullest. In a time when many are experiencing separation from elderly relatives and friends, the film’s themes are more relevant than ever, and the personal stories shared in the film will resonate with viewers of all ages.

Filmmaker, Sky Bergman explains, “These were ordinary people who rose to the challenge of extraordinary times. Their stories are about perseverance, the human spirit, and staying positive in the midst of great challenges. I hope that during this time the stories of resilience and overcoming adversity will be helpful as we grapple with the uncertainty of a pandemic.”

“We hope to be able to remind our audience that there is inspiration all around us and wisdom in age,” says librarian Margo Hill, who was instrumental in bringing this film to the Northbrook Public Library. “Also, at a library-level, although we can't see each other at the library, we are still looking for creative ways to help our community connect with one another through programs like this.”

Margo worked with filmmaker Sky Bergman and Meave Foley, Assisted Living Specialist at Covenant Living of Northbrook, to bring a special 24-hour virtual screening of Lives Well Lived to the community.
