Kids Care Food Drive Brings In Over 18,000 Food Items For Pantry
The original community-wide goal was 10,000 food items for the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Maple School's Student Council, with co-sponsors Lynn Reimer and Iris Zhang, have been busy collecting items for the Character Counts! Kids Care Food Drive for the past two weeks. The 2020 Kids Care Food Drive was a big success.
District 30 alone collected 4,894 items among Wescott, Maple, and Willowbrook Schools. The students of School District 34, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, St. Catherine Laboure School and Northbrook-Glenview District 30 worked together from October 19-30, in conjunction with Character Counts! Week (October 19-23) to collect over 18,000 food items that were donated to the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

Items of great need are: cans of tuna, chicken, salmon, beef stew, pasta with meat (i.e. Spaghetti Os), and beans; soup; rice and pasta mixes; and shelf-stable potatoes. (Please check expiration dates.) Cash donations and or checks made out to Northfield Township Food Pantry are always welcomed and encouraged, $1 = 5 cans.
