Lane Closures Planned For Waukegan Road Bridge In Northbrook

The Waukegan Road bridge over the Edens Spur in Northbrook will be reduced to a single lane in each direction through early December.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Road work on the Waukegan Road bridge over the Edens Spur is scheduled to reduce traffic to a single lane in each direction starting Monday. The Illinois Tollway said the repair work is scheduled to continue into early December and delays are expected.

The project is part of the tollway's Edens Spur improvement project, which began this year and is due to be complete in 2020. Built in 1958, the Edens Spur is used by up to 57,000 vehicles every day, according to the tollway.

The portion of the Spur from Lake Cook Road to Pfingsten Road was the first scheduled for repairs, followed by reconstruction work from Pfingsten to the Edens Expressway.
