Man Shoots Himself In Foot Unintentionally In Northbrook: Police

The man, who has an active Firearm Owners Identification card, was taken to the hospital Friday and is in stable condition, police said.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A man is in stable condition at an area hospital after unintentionally shooting himself in the foot with a gun Friday at a home in the 2900 block of Maria Avenue, police said.

The unintentional self-inflicted gunshot happened at around 10:30 a.m., according to a news release from police. The man, who has an active Firearm Owners Identification, or FOID, card in Illinois, inadvertently discharged the gun, striking his leg, officials said.

The Northbrook Fire Department took the man to the hospital for evaluation, according to the news release.
