No Human Remains Found At Northbrook Residence: Police
Police concluded a 9-foot dig Saturday following a reported tip in a missing person cold case from 1982.

NORTHBROOK, IL — It appears a missing person cold case from 1982 will remain unsolved for the time being. Police concluded a dig for human remains and evidence in the 1400 block of Orchard Lane that started Tuesday following a reported tip into the missing person case of Northbrook resident Linda H. Seymour.
Northbrook police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force concluded operations Saturday. The NORTAF's forensic team excavated to a depth of approximately nine feet.
Seymour’s family has been notified that no remains were found. Following the results of this effort, there are no other investigative avenues at this time, according to a news release from police.

Seymour, who was 35 at the time she went missing, was last seen at around 2 p.m. Dec. 21, 1982 in Northbrook, according to The Charley Project. She has never been seen or heard from again. Few details have ever been available in her case.
The home where the dig occurred was once owned by Seymour. Her husband, James Seymour Sr., lived at the home until his death in 2009, according to public records. A son of the missing woman currently lives in the home.
