Northbrook School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Northbrook is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. Northbrook School District 28 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/18: K-5 Evening Parent-Teacher Conferences (K-5)
• 10/19: Half Day for K-5 Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 10/20: No School for Students (NBJH Teacher Institute)

November

• 11/20 - 11/21: No School for Elementary and NBJH Students (NBJH Parent-Teacher Conferences, Elementary School Institute Days)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/8: School Reopens
• 1/15: No School (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday)

February

• 2/14: K-5 Evening Parent/Teacher Conferences
• 2/15: Half Day for K-5 Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 2/16: No School for Students (NBJH Teacher Institute)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents Day)
