The Village of North is looking to expand its downtown streetscape along Shermer Road. Components may include a tree-studded boulevard, new street lights with banners, widened lanes and angled parking in some areas, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Plans are coming together as seasonal street reconstruction is fast approaching. There is $2.8 million earmarked for unspecified downtown street reconstruction and streetscape work.
