Police Make DUI arrest on Waukegan

In a separate incident, an accident led to an arrest for driving with a suspended license.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Eugeniu Barbaros, 29, of the 3200 block of N. Keating in Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation at Waukegan and Linden at 4 a.m. Officers determined that he was under the influence and placed him under arrest. He was released on $1,000 bond with an Oct. 24 court date.

Driving with a suspended license

Officers stopped Thomas C. Lindstrom, 46, of the 1500 block of Asbury Ave. in Winnetka, when they saw him holding and talking on his cell phone while driving at Pfingsten and Brindle Sept. 26. Officers learned that his driver’s license was suspended and he was placed under arrest. He was released on $1,500 bond with a Nov. 6 court date.

Driving with a suspended license, drug paraphernalia

Officers pulled over Benlli Mora, 19, of the 6000 block of N. Fairfield Ave. in Chicago, for driving without tail lights at Sunset Ridge and Forestway at 10 p.m. Sept. 27. Officers detected a smell of burnt cannabis coming from the inside of the vehicle. Open alcohol and a grinder were found in the vehicle. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, no taillights and no valid insurance, released on $2000 bond and given an Oct. 24 court date.

An 18 year old from Chicago in the car turned over cannabis that he had hidden in his shoe. He and a 19-year-old from Chicago were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Driving with a suspended license

Dejan Cvejic, 44, of the 4400 block of W. Lunt in Lincolnwood, was involved in an auto accident Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Sanders and Forestview. Officers learned that he had a suspended driver’s license. He was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and released on $1,5000 bond with an Oct. 24 court date.
