Purse Thieves Rob Neiman Marcus; Nails Found In Car Tire: Blotter
Four men were seen leaving the store with a number of stolen purses; a resident found three nails in a car tire: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Shayla M. Dukes, 33, of the 1500 block of Lorelei Drive, Zion, is accused of driving under the influence, illegal transport of alcohol, and was arrested at 2:03 a.m. May 18. She was released after posting $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 17 in Skokie.

A Longaker Road resident reported at 9:27 a.m. May 14 that they received notification from the Illinois Department of Employment Security that their information was used to file for benefits which they did not apply for.
THEFT
A shopper at Whole Foods, 800 block of Willow Road, called police at 7:18 p.m. May 14 to report that after completing their shopping, they were at the register and realized that their wallet was missing. The complainant learned shortly after this that their credit card was used to make a large purchase at Home Depot but did not know the location. The complainant reported that their wallet contained identification cards, credit cards and money.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
- A resident in the 1100 block of Buttonwood reported at 11:53 p.m. May 14 that when they arrived at their residence, they found an open door. Nothing appeared to be missing at the time.
- A customer at Bloomingdale's Outlet, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, called police at 7:58 p.m. May 17 to report that when they entered the store, there were no employees present. A keyholder for the store was contacted and no criminal activity appeared to have occurred.
- An employee at Sarpino's, 1300 block of Meadow Road reported at 12:10 a.m. May 18 that they received a telephone message from someone claiming to be an officer from the Northbrook Police Department and that they were being contacted regarding solicitation calls. Officers verified that the caller was not actually a police officer.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
An Appletree Lane resident called police at 1:09 p.m. May 16 to report they have been receiving text messages from someone requesting money and threatening that information would be released to the complainant’s family if funds were not received.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A resident in the 1800 block of Janke Road reported at 8:47 a.m. May 17 that someone put three nails into a vehicle tire causing it to go flat.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A person at Heritage Oaks Golf Club, 3500 block of Dundee Road, called police at 1:26 p.m. May 18 to report someone broke a window on their vehicle and removed a laptop case which contained a computer, various credit cards, and keys from the back seat area.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee at Neiman Marcus, 1400 block of Lake Cook Road, reported at 3:02 p.m. May 18 four men entered the store and took an unknown number of purses without paying for the items. The subjects entered a vehicle and left the area.
FRAUD
A Shannon Road resident called police at 7:25 p.m. May 19 to report that they discovered a transfer occurring in a financial account and were able to contact financial representatives to stop a portion of the transfer.
