Rocks Damage Windshield Of Car; Village Green Graffiti: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION

Arieale Brown, 21, of the 6800 block of S Michigan, Chicago, is accused of having a suspended registration, no front plate, uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 9:59 p.m. June 24 in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard. She was released after posting a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of July 21 in Skokie.

WARRANT ARREST

Julia A. Gsah, 50, of the 2300 block of 14th Street, Waukegan, is accused of no insurance, expired registration, having an outstanding warrant from Elgin, and was arrested at 1:21 p.m. June 24 at Waukegan and Portsmouth. She was processed, turned over to Eligin police and assigned a court date of July 26.

THEFT

Edgar Martin Garcia-Cabrera, 29, of the 6800 block of W 65th Street, Chicago, is accused of theft of property, and was arrested during a follow-up investigation to a January incident in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard. He was assigned a court date of July 27.


INCIDENTS

NOISE COMPLAINT

A person called police at 11:11 a.m. June 25 to report trucks regularly honk their horns early in the morning at Advanced Disposal, 2800 block of Shermer Road.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE

A person reported at 10:31 a.m. June 25 that as they were driving their vehicle, they heard a loud noise at Waukegan and Dundee roads. The discovered that the front passenger door window had been broken out.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Sutton Drive resident called police at 6:52 p.m. June 25 to report someone opened several credit accounts in their name without their permission.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE

  • A person reported that between June 25-26, someone scratched their parked vehicle in the 2300 block of Crabtree.
  • A person called police to report someone damaged the windshield of their vehicle with rocks while it was parked between June 26-27 on Lincoln Avenue.
  • A person reported at 11:53 p.m. June 28 that someone scratched their vehicle while it was parked at Trader Joe's, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

An employee at T-Mobile, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, called police at 12:30 p.m. June 27 to report a customer became upset with employees after they were denied a refund for a product. The customer was contacted and requested to not enter the store again.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

A customer at Goodwill, 4100 block of Dundee Road, reported that between 1:10-1:49 p.m. June 27 the driver’s side door window of their vehicle while they were shopping.

FRAUD

  • A person at Contemporary Preschool LLC, 100 block of Revere Drive, called police at 12:37 p.m. June 28 to report they sent a check for services rendered to a service provider. The complainant stated that they learned that the check that was sent was altered and cashed by an unknown person.
  • An employee at Toyota on Edens, 1500 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 3:34 p.m. June 28 that a person placed an order for parts and paid for the parts with a check. The complainant states that the check has been returned for insufficient funds and attempts to contact the person have been unsuccessful.
  • A Skokie Boulevard resident called police at 3:34 p.m. June 28 to report they received payment in the form of a check for services that were provided. The complainant said that the check they received has been returned several times for insufficient funds.

THEFT

A resident in the 1800 block of Clover Road called police at 1:04 p.m. June 28 to report they saw several missing items in their residence after a cleaning service had been in the residence.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A staff member at Stepan Company, 1100 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 8:23 a.m. June 29 they found a broken window on the third floor of the building.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

An Antique Lane resident reported at 6:40 p.m. June 30 that after applying for employment, they have been receiving numerous calls and text messages from an unknown male.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

An officer on patrol found new graffiti at 10:52 p.m. June 30 written on the gazebo floor at Village Green, 1800 block of Walters.
