School of Rock Glenbrook Offers New Back to School Program
HALL PASS combines School of Rock's signature performance-based music education with facilitated remote learning to help working parents.
Going back to school can be a stressful time for many, especially now. Working parents face additional challenges when their kids are unable to return to school either full or part-time. Even for parents who will be at home, there is the added concern of their children being able to engage in sufficient social interaction. It can be difficult to separate school life from home life, and School of Rock Glenbrook hopes to create a safe and fun place outside of the home to focus on school requirements with their newest program, Hall Pass.
Hall Pass combines the best of their signature performance-based music education with facilitated remote learning—bringing school to School of Rock. “We’re excited to offer this program and offer a service to the community,” says Amy Renzulli, owner of the School of Rock Glenbrook. "We were also happy that we will be able to provide more jobs for musicians and college students who also need a place to work with purpose.”
Students will go to School of Rock for a full day at least twice per week. While half of the students are in lesson rooms, the other half will be in large open spaces for socially distanced music instruction. Periodically, they will put on live rock performances at School of Rock’s in-house venue! Students will attend exciting and educational music lessons such as songwriting, rock history, music theory, and even an art project here or there.

The schedule will feature a block-like format and will also group the students by age/grade level. School of Rock will shape the program around each student, who have varied schedules and needs. Academic counselors will assist students with their individual school curriculum. And there will be a strong focus on communication with parents.
School of Rock Glenbrook is very much anticipating the launch of this program with the hope that it helps families within the community. Every safety precaution will be taken, following state and local guidelines--taking protocol seriously to ensure the most secure yet creative environment. The Hall Pass program will not only supplement regular school learning, but also enhance it with safe social interaction, music, and creativity.
