Teen Injured In Shooting On Edens Near Northbrook: Police
The Saturday night incident is under investigation by Illinois State Police.
NORTHBROOK, IL — A 16-year-old Wisconsin girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries from debris caused by gunfire as the result of a Saturday night shooting on Interstate 94, near Tower Road in Northbrook. The incident, which happened at around 10:35 p.m., is being investigated by the Illinois State Police.
Police were called to the expressway for the reported shooting and found the girl in the rear seat of a car involved. She was treated on the scene and not taken to the hospital for her injuries. Three other occupants in the car did not sustain any injuries, according to a release.
Preliminary reports indicate the car was traveling on Interstate 94 southbound near Tower Road when it was struck by gunfire. The shots were fired from an unknown vehicle, also traveling at that location. That vehicle continued south on Interstate 94, while the car with the injured girl exited at Old Orchard Road, according to the release.
