Update: Letters to the Editor Regarding Trump Rally
The Northbrook Patch has been receiving many emails regarding a Friday night rally in Northbrook.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Since Friday, we've been receiving a number of emails regarding a Friday night "Power to the People" rally and a counter rally in Northbrook. I had decided to start publishing them as letters to the editor on my end as a way for people to discuss what happened. With that, different people are sending different accounts of what actually happened. Though Patch previewed the event and talked to the organizer, we were unable to attend Friday night's event. As a result, and due to people giving very different accounts of what happened, I've decided to pull the letters down that I had published on my end and refrain from running them. You can still publish letters yourself on our websites (see below). It was not an easy decision as I had hoped to get a solid dialogue going between all involved, but it doesn't appear that can happen at this time. If we had been there and were able to verify these varying accounts, it would make much more sense, but it doesn't.
It's important to mention that I do appreciate people reaching out and using Patch to talk about news going on in Northbrook and the North Shore. I encourage more of that despite the shortcomings of this particular situation.
This doesn't stop you from writing a Letter to the Editor about this topic or any other.
