Village to Remove More Emerald Ash Borer Trees
Crews have been working all summer as part of a Master Plan.

Village of Northbrook crews have been removing Emerald Ash Borer infested trees all summer, but still have about 20 that need to be removed in the coming weeks.
“Village crews continue to survey the remaining Ash trees and remove those that are dead and/or hazardous in accordance with the EAB Master Plan,” according to a village memo released Friday. “The plan includes surveying all parkway Ash trees, treating Ash trees classified as category 1, removal of dead or dying trees, and reforestation after the removal.”
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive, non-native insect that feeds on and ultimately causes the demise of Ash trees. According to the village of Northbrook website, the beetle is metallic green in color and approximately one half inches in length.
