Wisconsin Woman Accused Of Firing Gun Outside Hotel: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF FIREARM

Sherricka I. Presley, 31, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is accused of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and was arrested at 2:01 a.m. April 8 at the Sheraton Chicago Northbrook Hotel, 1100 block of Willow Road. A complainant reported hearing what they believed were gunshots in the area. Officers responded to the hotel and located several shell casings in the parking lot. No one was injured. Presley is due in court April 26 in Skokie.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Vito Accardi, 52, of the 2000 block of Beechnut Road, Northbrook, is accused of disobeying traffic control, driving while license suspended, no insurance, and was arrested at 8:10 p.m. April 9 in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. He was released after posing a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of April 26 in Skokie.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Christopher Nellis, 60, of the 9700 block of Woods Drive, Skokie, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding, and was arrested at 8:42 p.m. April 10 at Mobil, 500 block of Dundee Road. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of April 26.

NO DRIVER'S LICENSE

Bryan Adrian Vera, 19, of the 2000 block of N 17th Avenue, Melrose Park, is accused of no driver's license, a lane violation, no insurance, and was arrested at 1:09 p.m. April 11 at Willow and Landwehr. He was released after posting $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of May 14.

BATTERY

Kevin L. Witmer, 58, of the 9200 block of National, Morton Grove, is accused of battery at Lowes, 1000 block of Willow Road, and was arrested after turning himself in at 11:45 a.m. April 13. He was released after posting a $1,500 bond and assigned a court date of May 21.

INCIDENTS

BATTERY

A person reported at 7:02 p.m. April 8 that they were engaged in a verbal argument with someone in the 3100 block of Pheasant Creek. According to the person, the argument escalated and the other person grabbed the complainant’s cell phone and pushed them.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE

  • A resident of the 3400 block of Whirlaway called police at 8:32 p.m. April 9 to report they saw an unknown vehicle park in their driveway. They then saw a man exit the vehicle and walk to the side of their residence. The vehicle subsequently left the area. No criminal activity was seen.
  • A resident in the 2700 block of Appletree reported at 9:04 p.m. April 12 that someone removed their checkbooks and bank statements from their residence.
  • A resident in the 2300 block of Bellevue called police at 9:45 p.m. April 12 to report seeing people with flashlights on the roof of a house. The complainant stated that the people left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

HIT-AND-RUN PROPERTY DAMAGE

A person reported at 11:44 p.m. April 9 that they saw a black-colored Lexus sedan strike a light pole and then leave the scene at Sunset Ridge and Sunset Court.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 2800 block of Dundee Road called police at 12:13 p.m April 10 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours and removed a pair of sunglasses.
  • A resident in the 900 block of Spring Hill Drive reported at 1:01 p.m. April 10 that someone entered their unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours and removed an unknown amount of loose change from a center console.
  • A person called police at 6:01 p.m. April 12 to report that someone entered their unlocked vehicle in the 2700 block of Wilshire, ransacked the interior and took a gym bag.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

An employee at Best Buy, 1000 block of Willow Road, called police at 9:55 a.m. April 11 to report that when they arrived for work, they found several broken windows on the building. It was determined that the building was not entered and nothing was missing.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A person reported at 4:15 p.m April 12 at the police station that someone they know made threatening statements toward them.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A person called police at 7:01 p.m. April 12 to report someone scratched their parked vehicle at Neiman Marcus, 1400 block of Lake Cook Road.
  • A person reported that between April 9-13 someone damaged the credit card machine adjacent to the agent window at the Metra Depot, 1400 block of Shermer Road.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Palm Canyon Drive resident reported at 9:42 a.m. April 13 that they received correspondence from the Illinois Department of Employment Security for a claim that they did not file for.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A person called police to report that between 5:49-7:09 p.m. April 12 someone scratched the front fender of their vehicle in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

  • A person reported that between April 6-13 someone used spray paint and marker to write graffiti on the gazebo at the Village Green Park, 1800 block of Walters Avenue.
  • A person called police at 9:54 a.m. April 15 to report someone placed new graffiti on the building at the Skate Park, 1700 block of Techny Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A person called police at 2:23 p.m. April 13 to report they saw four males on video damaging several signs and then leaving the parking lot in a vehicle at the Metra Depot 1400 block of Shermer Road.

ILLEGAL DUMPING

A person reported at 1:39 p.m. April 14 that someone dumped construction materials on the property at Rosenthal Manufacturing, 1800 block of Janke Drive.

THEFT OF FUEL

An employee at BP, 1900 block of Willow Road, reported at 7:15 p.m. April 14 a male placed $40 in gas into gas cans and then left the area without paying for the gas.
