A semi-truck and trailer were taken from an Arlington Heights parking lot. The trailer contained 50 pallets of GNC multi-vitamins, valued at $100,000.

He got a ticket to ride, and he don't care

In an identity theft case, a Niles man reported that two purchases, total $140, were made on his credit card at a store in Glenwood, Ill., as well as a purchase for a train ticket made in Coventry, England.

Man breaks record, creates record

A 27-year-old Buffalo Grove man set a La Grange Park record for the highest speed ever recorded by police there, police said. The man said he was taking a motorcycle for a test drive when he was clocked going 103 mph, according to police.

Steal an apple, all-seeing cloud knows, punishment

A McHenry resident returned home to find his house had been ransacked and robbed.

Among the stolen items: Apple products. The quick-thinking homeowner tracked his stolen Apple products using iCloud, a storage mechanism that allows Apple owners to share information, photographs, etc. from one i-device to another. Sheriff's deputies were able to successfully locate the missing items at a nearby residence and arrested a McHenry man there for the burglary.

Objects in mirror may appear farther away

A Winnetka resident said someone removed a Jeep car door that was leaning against the home. The door is described as yellow with a chrome door handle and a mirror, worth $600.
