Barangaroos Aussie Pies Opens In Lake View
The pie shop opened its doors Friday on Sheffield Avenue near Belmont.
CHICAGO — An Australian pie shop celebrated its grand opening Friday in the Lake View neighborhood. Named after a suburb in Sydney that's known for its pies, Barangaroos Aussie Pies opened its doors at 3208 N. Sheffield Avenue.
The new restaurant offered $2 pies Friday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., then 50 percent off all pies after 3 p.m.
Adorned with kangaroo decor and a hand-painted black and white mural of Sydney, Barangaroos offers more than 10 small savory pie options baked daily.

The menu includes options such as a breakfast pie (with eggs, steak and cheese), a Mexican pie (steak fajita, black beans, cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream), a chicken tikka masala option and a Buffalo chicken pie.
Menu options also include sides such as soup, pasta and street corn, and Australian candies and cookies for dessert.
