Boy, 15, Dies in Avondale Car Crash

Two other teens were injured, police said.

CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was killed in a car crash Wednesday morning in Avondale, police said. The vehicle crashed around 4:05 in the 2800 block of North Western Avenue, according to police.

Five teens were in the car when the 17-year-old driver crashed into a light pole, police said.

The 15-year-old victim was in the back of the car and died from blunt head trauma, police said.

A 14-year-old and 15-year-old were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The driver and a passenger, a 16-year-old boy, fled after the crash, authorities said.
