Boy, 17, Charged In Fatal NW Side Shooting
Police have charged a teenager in the deadly shooting of a high school student.

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy has been charged with first degree murder in the fatal shooting of a Northside College Prep student in the Old Irving Park neighborhood.
Emanuel Gallegos, 17, was a passenger in a westbound car in the 4400 block of West Addison Street, when police said someone fired at him from a street corner.
Gallegos was shot in the neck and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he later died.

The teen who faces charges was taken into custody in the 2400-block of West Belmont Avenue after being identified as the suspect, police said. He been charged with murder as an adult, police said. He will appear in bond court on Thursday.
Gallegos' friends plan to hold a vigil at 6 p.m. Thursday at the intersection where he was killed.
